2002-03 BAP Signature Series Autographs Gold

I have a couple of “thank you” posts that I need to do, but in the meantime, here’s these.

2002-03 BAP Signature Series Autographs Gold

All 4 of these were in a lot I ended up winning for $5.50 with free shipping.  That averages to around $1.37 per card.  I currently have around 10 autographed cards(4 of them are Graves), so that sounds good to me!  I would be willing to trade any of these except for the Graves.

A Couple More Graves Cards for the PC

Most of my Ebay card purchase have made it to me in the last week, and I’m finally giving them the exposure they deserve.

The purchases were either for a single player collection, or an insert set that I’m currently working on(more on that later).  If you know me, you know that Adam Graves is my top player collection.

This first one cost me a whopping 20 cents, and the shipping set me back a cool 40 cents!

I know it looks like nothing special, but I didn’t have that many O-Pee-Chee cards when I was a kid.  So, they have a certain allure to me.  And you have to admit that 60 cents total is not bad at all for Ebay!

It’s mint(actually looks pack-fresh), and another unique card to the Graves collection.

The next card is one of nicest looking cards I’ve seen for Graves.  It’s from a pretty recent release, and it’s pretty odd for me to purchase a card from something so recent.

2012-13 Panini Classic Adam Graves Autograph (front)

These Panini Classics on-card autos look fantastic, and the checklist is pretty varied(and awesome), to boot!  I can’t afford $35 a pack, and I would be totally bummed to pull some of the other names on the checklist.  I’m a fan of the entire checklist,  but not all of the autos command even the price of admission.  So, I feel the secondary market is the way to go when it comes to these.

This set me back for less than 1/4 of what a pack would’ve cost me.  There’ll be a few more I’ll definitely be picking up from this set in the future, and I need to find Graves’ Retired Numbers banner card as well.

1993-94 Score Dynamic Duo Messier/Graves

This is the second of 3 Ebay card purchases made last week.  It is also a card that has waited a long time to make it into my collection.

This is an insert set that, for some reason, instantly piqued my interest.  Two star players on one card is probably what did it.  Finding out that there was a Rangers card in the set, and that it featured Messier and Graves, made it a must have.  But this was a card that I had never seen in person, and over time, it was pushed to the back of my mind.

The foil was not out of hand yet, so it adds to the card, rather than kill it.  Dynamic Duo is also the nickname for Batman & Robin, but I refuse to think that either one of these two could ever be Robin.  🙂

Now that I finally have this one in hand, I’ve decided that this is a set that I would like to complete.  I believe that there are 10 cards in this set, but there are only about 3 current listings.  If anybody has any of these, I would be interested to buy or trade for them.  Just leave a comment.

One down, nine to go!

97-98 Be a Player Autograph – Adam Graves

This is a card that I’ve wanted in my collection for a long time.  I remember seeing his name on the list of autographs in the set, and I immediately wanted it.  Every pack contained an autographed card, and at the time, was a pretty big deal in the hobby.  I’m not sure of the price of the of the packs when they were released, but I never did buy a pack(and don’t recall seeing them in shops more than a couple times).

It’s a pretty good feeling to finally have knocked this one off the list.

97-97 Be a Player Adam Graves Autograph

As my favorite player, I figure $5.85 wasn’t too bad to add Graves’ autograph to the PC.  Now that I have his auto, and I have a GU card, I need to find an autographed GU card.

This was the first of 3 card purchases I made on Ebay this past weekend.  The others should be here in the next few days(I hope).

Favorites – 2001 Topps Stars : Adam Graves

What we have tonight, reflects my favorite player, as well as a favorite card.

In my opinion, the only thing that would make this cooler, is if I pulled it from a pack myself.  Truth be told, I haven’t actually persued collecting cards in the last 8-10 years.  I still like the hobby, and have my cards from when I was a kid, but I don’t buy anywhere near as much.  Occasionally, I’ll buy a pack or two, maybe even a blaster.

Adam Graves is my all-time favorite player.  He was an integral part of the team that won the Cup in ’94.  This is the only GU card I have of Graves, and only one of a handful of GU in my collection.  It ran me arounf 4 bucks on Ebay(including shipping), so I’m pretty happy with it.  It’s stuff like this that keeps me collectiong.
